Putting together an anticipation guide for class tomorrow. Thanks for the idea, Tumblr!
Conversation in the Starbucks drive thru when the barista saw the caution tape:
Barista: …Are you going to a crime scene?
Me: No, I’m creating one!
I’ve been kind of stressed out lately. I basically walked into the final quarter of the year with no game plan. I know what we’re reading, but I have no clue where we’re going with it or what our big goals are. (No standards in private school sometimes means little guidance as to what needs to be covered before the end of the year.)
Instead of taking a mental health day (which I would feel guilty doing, even though I think they are completely legit), I pulled the silent treatment on my classes today.
10:30pm yesterday: Oh look! It’s time for bed. Snuggle into the warm bed for sleep.
11:15pm: Why am I still awake?
12:30pm: Oh my gosh I’m never going to fall asleep tonight. (Begin thinking about work that needs to be done for school; who I need to email; what next year will be like without a teacher on my grade level team; grammar notes to finish…)
1:15am: Okay, whatever. If I’m awake, I’ll just get work done instead of tossing around in my bed.
2:00am: Close computer. Try to sleep again.
……
7:40am: There’s sunlight coming into my window? OH MY GOD WHAT TIME IS IT I AM LATE FOR SCHOOL I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THERE 10 MINUTES AGO MY FIRST CLASS IS IN LESS THAN AN HOUR
7:41am: Text teachers letting them know I’ll be late but there for the first class
8:20am: Get to school (after a shower)
8:22am: Student walks into my room: “Oh, there you are! I brought you this…” (begins to pull out an entire Chickfila breakfast meal—chicken minis, hashbrowns, and orange juice included.)

Hey everyone! Go check out my guest post at basecoat-topcoat for more information on these nails :)
